Salary: €53,000 - €60,000 Per Annum (Dependent on experience)

Overview We are seeking an experienced Diesel Plant Fitter to join a busy and growing operation in Dublin. This role focuses on the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime while maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections on plant machinery
Diagnose faults across diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components
Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, pumps, and hydraulics
Respond to breakdowns and complete on-site (field) repairs as required
Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and job sheets
Prepare plant machinery for hire, deployment, or operational use
Work both within the workshop and at external customer sites
Ensure all work complies with Irish health & safety regulations and industry standards
Provide support and guidance to junior fitters or apprentices when required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a plant, HGV, or heavy equipment environment
Strong technical knowledge of: Diesel engines, Hydraulic systems Diagnostics and fault finding
Full, clean driver’s licence (essential)
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience working with construction or quarry plant equipment
Welding and fabrication skills
Familiarity with diagnostic software and telematics systems
Key Skills
Strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis ability
Excellent mechanical aptitude
High level of attention to detail
Good communication skills, particularly in field-based environments
