Essential Requirement
- EU or UK passport OR existing legal right to work in Ireland
- Proven experience as a stainless steel welder / fabricator
- Strong TIG welding experience on stainless steel (thin to medium gauge)
- Ability to fabricate accurately from drawings and specifications
- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work within strict hygiene standards
Introduction
A well-established food and dairy manufacturing company is seeking a Stainless Steel Welder / Fabricator to join its on-site engineering team. Job Overview
You will be responsible for the fabrication, modification, and repair of stainless steel equipment and components used in food-grade production. This role plays a key part in maintaining plant reliability, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring compliance with strict hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality TIG welding (and MIG where required) on stainless steel components
- Fabricate and modify items such as guards, frames, platforms, supports, drip trays, brackets, and production line components
- Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and measurements accurately
- Support planned shutdowns and respond efficiently to breakdown and repair requirements
- Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and hygiene at all times
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong TIG welding capability on stainless steel
- Experience working with food-grade or hygienic fabrication standards
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Basic understanding of maintenance and plant operations
- Stainless steel finishing or polishing experience is an advantage
- Welding qualifications or ability to pass a weld test is beneficial
